Törggelen: a jolly good time
The harvest is over, and the leaves start to change colours before falling to the ground: this is when South Tyroleans know the time for “Törggelen” has come. This centuries-old tradition is a great opportunity to roam the fields, vineyards, and forests looking for the farms and agribusinesses (known locally as Buschenschank) which open their doors to serve specialties to hikers and ramblers. An unmissable occasion.

Cavalcata di Oswald von Wolkenstein
A once-in-a-lifetime event: an equestrian tournament where folklore, history, and culture all come together for lots of fun. Join us from 31 October to 2 November at Fiè allo Sciliar. Dip your foot into the past, have a great time with family and friends, and relish in the dishes which have made our region famous all over the world.

Farmers’ markets
The villages of Fiè, Siusi, and Castelrotto hold weekly farmer’s markets – fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, herbs, cheese, honey, wine, juices, and many other local products grown on the land can be purchased from the stalls filling the main village squares.

The magic of the Christmas markets
Bressanone, Bolzano, Merano will delight you with their magical Christmas markets between the end of November and the first week of January – while Castelrotto’s Christmas market welcomes tourists and locals alike during the weekends in December. The squares of the cities and villages will come to life with picturesque wooden huts and stalls awash with fairy lights, selling local art and craftsmanship such as jumpers, jackets, and handsewn socks; wooden sculptures and nativity scenes; candles, stitchwork, and felt products. Magic is in the air.

Schlern Music Festival
For four days in May, Fiè and its surroundings are the stage of the former Semper Music Festival, now known as the Schlern Music Festival. Chamber music concerts in unique locations at the foot of the Sciliar become evocative and unique musical experiences. The concerts take place en plain air across stunning locations. Enjoy!
